Soil moisture content values were also calculated for the Sep. 1999 samples.  pH was sampled before the experiment began in 1998.\nIn addition, two sets of samples were taken in Apr. 2000 and July 2003 from each of the general sampling sub-plots (S T U V) from within all the experimental plot types except the control 2 plots, and used to assess the variation in pH across the site.
