Ancillary meteorological and soil physics observations were co-located with the eddy covariance station.\n\nTurbulent flux densities were calculated from the raw EC data using the EddyPRO® Flux Calculation Software Version 7.0.6. Quality control of EC data involved removal of statistical outliers and tests based on the theoretical requirements for successful application of the EC technique. Data gaps in EC data were filled using the Marginal Distribution Sampling approach. Where possible, missing meteorological data were filled using observations collected by an automated weather station located on the Wicken Fen site.\n\nTime series data are supplied as a single .csv file that contains tabular data according to the columns described in Table 1 in the accompanying
