Samples entered the ICP-QMS through an auto-sampler (Cetac ASX-520) via a nebuliser (Thermo-Fisher Scientific; 1mL min-1) and spray chamber. Internal standards were introduced to the sample stream via a separate line including Ge (50 micro g/L), Rh (20 micro g/L) and Ir (10 micro g/L) in 2% HNO3. Two sets of external mulit-element calibration standards for major elements (0-30 mg/L) and trace elements (0-100 micrograms per litre) were prepared from Certiprep(TM) multi-element stock solutions.\nAfter filtration on a 0.45 micrometre mesh size filter and preservation (1% v/v of ZnCl2 50% w/v), concentrations of inorganic macronutrients (NO3-, NO2- and PO43- in μg/L, mean +/- SD, n = 3 per lake) were determined using a QuAAtro segmented flow nutrient analyser with autosampler (SEAL Analytical, UK). Analysis was done according to standard procedures.","metadataDate":"2026-05-11T18:27:37","notGEMINI":true,"onlineResources":[{"url":"https://data-package.ceh.ac.uk/sd/b29d8ab8-9aa7-4f63-a03d-4ed176c32bf3.zip","name":"Supporting information","description":"Supporting information available to assist in re-use of this dataset","function":"information","type":"OTHER"},{"url":"https://catalogue.ceh.ac.uk/datastore/eidchub/b29d8ab8-9aa7-4f63-a03d-4ed176c32bf3","name":"Download the data","description":"Download a copy of this data","function":"fileAccess","type":"OTHER"}],"pointsOfContact":[{"familyName":"Guler","givenName":"Y.","organisationName":"University of Portsmouth","organisationIdentifier":"https://ror.org/03ykbk197","role":"pointOfContact","email":"yasminguler@hotmail.com","fullName":"Guler, Y.","pointOfContact":"University of Portsmouth"}],"publicationDate":"2019-03-06T00:00:00.000Z","publishers":[{"organisationName":"NERC Environmental Information Data Centre","organisationIdentifier":"https://ror.org/04xw4m193","role":"publisher","email":"info@eidc.ac.uk"}],"relationships":[{"relation":"http://purl.org/dc/terms/isPartOf","target":"3124e313-7ce8-4832-98b4-2357fab9284c"}],"resourceIdentifiers":[{"code":"https://catalogue.ceh.ac.uk/id/b29d8ab8-9aa7-4f63-a03d-4ed176c32bf3"},{"code":"10.5285/b29d8ab8-9aa7-4f63-a03d-4ed176c32bf3","codeSpace":"doi"}],"resourceType":{"value":"dataset"},"responsibleParties":[{"familyName":"Guler","givenName":"Y.","organisationName":"University of Portsmouth","organisationIdentifier":"https://ror.org/03ykbk197","role":"pointOfContact","email":"yasminguler@hotmail.com","fullName":"Guler, Y.","pointOfContact":"University of Portsmouth"},{"organisationName":"NERC EDS Environmental Information Data Centre","organisationIdentifier":"https://ror.org/04xw4m193","role":"custodian","email":"info@eidc.ac.uk"},{"organisationName":"NERC Environmental Information Data Centre","organisationIdentifier":"https://ror.org/04xw4m193","role":"publisher","email":"info@eidc.ac.uk"},{"familyName":"Lerebours","givenName":"A.","organisationName":"University of Portsmouth","organisationIdentifier":"https://ror.org/03ykbk197","role":"author","email":"adelaide.lerebours@port.ac.uk","fullName":"Lerebours, A."},{"familyName":"Smith","givenName":"J.T.","organisationName":"University of Portsmouth","organisationIdentifier":"https://ror.org/03ykbk197","role":"author","email":"jim.smith@port.ac.uk","fullName":"Smith, J.T."}],"spatialReferenceSystems":[{"code":"http://www.opengis.net/def/crs/EPSG/0/4326","title":"WGS 84"}],"spatialRepresentationTypes":["textTable"],"supplemental":[{"description":"Lerebours, A., Gudkov, D., Nagorskaya, L., Kaglyan, A., Rizewski, V., Leshchenko, A., … Smith, J.T.
