The tools provided in this package were designed in collaboration with ERCCIS to overcome some of the limitations associated with these data when used to map the distribution of species. In particular, the methods attempt to address sparse sampling and spatial sampling bias associated with sampling for many species. Distribution data is required to support planning decisions and local nature recovery strategies within the region.
