We manipulated the social environment (flies kept in solitude, pairs, groups of four, or groups of eight) and observed egg locations over 24 hours to understand socially-driven changes in laying rates and site choices. These data were used in the model, to investigate whether location patterns differed significantly from a random null distribution.
