The powdered sample was placed between two round coverslips cleaned with ethanol, heated up at 180 °C and placed at a heated stage equilibrated at a given temperature. The data was collected as movies. Then, images of every given timeframe dependent on the temperature (e.g. 10 s) were obtained using a VLS media player. The images were then analysed using the ImageJ programme, with the radius of the spherulite at a particular time recorded. This data obtained spherulite growth rate as tangent at radius vs time graph.
