Using a search term strategy, screening by title and abstract, and then assessing the full text for eligibility, we identified 680 studies to include in this collection. Mean soil protease activity data were exported using predetermined criteria. In addition, several environmental and methodological parameters were exported when stated in the study. The raw extracted data from the studies were split into two csv files provided here, colorimetric methods and fluorimetric methods."
