Data were collected between 18th-20th July 2023, alongside other observations examining the forest canopy structure and photosynthesis. Leaves were sampled across one hazel tree within the understory, and two oak trees. Data from the oak trees were collected with height, using a 12 m tower (six 2 m platforms), with leaves sampled across three platforms. Each overhanging oak branch was split into leaf clusters, with leaves sampled. The hazel understory was also sampled in the same manner. All labelled leaves were not sampled as some were taken down by the wind between marking and data collection.\n\nPhotosynthetic parameters are collected directly from the Handy PEA+ continuous excitation chlorophyll fluorimeter with no processing applied.\n\nTest measurements were taken with the LI-COR 6400 on the 18th, with data collected for leaves across two of the platforms on the 19th and 20th July 2023.
