through both assessment of emissions sectors back through time from present day to 1970 and also fuel usage through the same period. Data for identified sources, pre-1970, were derived from a multitude of statistical resources, literature, government records etc. Key sources (and their emissions estimations) were matched and aggregated to the SNAP sector emissions classification.\n\nData post-2018 are informed by UK-specific versions of the shared socioeconomic pathways (SSPs) for 2040, 2070 and 2100.
