Bankfull river widths on a 1km × 1km grid are generated using the OS MasterMap Water Network Layer width data in a regression relationship with geomorphic and rainfall characteristics. The 1km × 1km gridded bankfull river depth dataset is generated using observed measurements from a range of sources in a regression relationship with geomorphic and rainfall characteristics. Finally, the NRFA gauging station location dataset on a 1km × 1km grid is generated by identifying the location (easting, northing) on the catchment areas dataset that best represents the true gauging station location. An indication of the quality of these data is provided by the % error between the 1km-derived and the IHDTM catchment areas.
