Initial channel and floodplain morphology (e.g., river slope, width and depth) and grain size characteristics (for bedload and suspended load) must be specified to define a channel-floodplain system with a simple initial configuration. The river system then evolves during the simulation to develop a self-formed channel and floodplain with morphology that is a product of the imposed model boundary conditions and process representation. Each grid cell in the domain is classed as either channel (unvegetated) or floodplain (partially vegetated). Cells can be converted between these two classes through a range of mechanisms as a simulation proceeds. Process equations and parameter values may differ between channel and floodplain cells, and as a function of floodplain age. \n\nThe data provides the hydrodynamic and morphodynamic results for the reference (no dam) scenarios and the dam scenarios described in the publication for each output timestep (5 flood days) along the simulation time. For the REF-scenarios, total simulation time was 6000 flood days, for the DAM-scenarios 4000 flood days.
