dcterms:description "This is a collection of datasets associated with projects 'CONTAIN: Optimising the long term management of invasive species affecting biodiversity and the rural economy using adaptive management' ( https://gtr.ukri.org/projects?ref=NE/S011641/1 ) and 'Invasive alien species management to decrease impacts on biodiversity, rural poverty and carbon storage' (UK Global Centre on Biodiversity for Climate, GCBC) focussed on case-studies covering invasive alien plants, invasive alien vertebrates, and invasive alien vertebrates in Argentina, Brazil, and Chile. Project CONTAIN is described in detail in Lambin et al. (2020). NeoBiota, 59: 119-138 ( https://doi.org/10.3897/neobiota.59.52022 ) and an overview of the GCBC project can be found on page 19 of the 2023 GCBC Evidence Synthesis report ( https://www.gcbc.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/03-DAI103_Evidence-Synthesis-Report_161123_H_01.pdf ). Funding was provided by project CONTAIN under the Latin American Biodiversity Programme as part of the Newton Fund (NE/S011641/1), with contributions from NERC (UK), the Argentine National Scientific & Technical Research Council (CONICET,-2019-74-APN-DIR#CONICET), the São Paulo Research Foundation (Brazil, FAPESP 2018/14995-8), and the Chilean National Commission for Scientific & Technological Research (CONICYT). Additional support was provided by the project 'Invasive alien species management to decrease impacts on biodiversity, rural poverty and carbon storage' (2022GCBCCONTAIN) funded by the UK Global Centre on Biodiversity for Climate (GCBC), Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA). Given the broad remit of the project, this collection includes a diversity of datasets from literature reviews, expert-based identification of management priorities and stakeholders, and field and survey data obtained during experiments and field surveys conducted in Argentina, Brazil, and Chile. Please refer to the individual datasets for further details. The relevant case studies are: 1) American mink (Neogale vison) in Argentina and Chile. 2) Glossy privet (Ligustrum lucidum) in Argentina. 3) Lodgepole and Monterey pines (Pinus contorta and P. radiata) in Argentina and Chile. 4) Invasive grasses (Urochloaspp.) in Brazil. 5) German yellow-jacket (Vespula germanica) in Chile." ;
