For C. vulgaris, the leading shoot length (this years growth only) was measured, along with the number of open and closed flowers. For V. myrtillus, the leading shoot length (this years growth only) was measured, the number of leaves counted. For E. nigrum, leading shoot length (this years growth only) was measured as well as the number of branches in that years growth."
