The model was evaluated using the UK Automatic Urban and Rural Network (AURN) monitoring stations. R was used to access the AURN dataset to evaluate the EMEP4UK model output.\n\nKey input data to the EMEP4UK model (version 5.0 with slightly modified wet deposition) include:\n- anthropogenic emissions for the UK from the National Atmospheric Emissions Inventory (released 2025, base year 2023);\n- anthropogenic emissions for the Republic of Ireland from MapEire;\n- anthropogenic emissions for Europe from the Centre for Emissions Inventories and Projections;\n- UK land surface data from the Land Cover Map 2015; and\n- European land cover data and other default EMEP model inputs from the EMEP repository.\n\nThe deposited data were processed from the full EMEP4UK model output to a subset containing essential variables only.
