This dataset contains 13C and 15N data for organic soil profiles (organic horizons to top of E horizon) at two of the MOORCO experimental tree planting sites in North East Scotland (Glensaugh and Ballogie). Data also includes total soil carbon and nitrogen stocks and bulk density.

Provenance & quality
Data are obtained from sieved and dried soil cores, which were then homogenised and analysed for %C, %N (via elemental analysis), d13C and d15N content (via IRMS).
QC on all variables involved checking max and minimum values to ensure these are within the range of ecologically realistic values, and plotting histograms of data to identify obvious outliers. No outliers or unrealistic values were identified so all data are included.
