The dataset contains locations at sea for five seabird species (fulmar, European shag, black-legged kittiwake, common guillemot and razorbill) tracked using GPS tags over several years at breeding colonies across the UK. The data were collected during the course of two large-scale collaborative projects: FAME (Future of the Atlantic Marine Environment) and STAR (Seabird Tracking and Research) coordinated by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB).
This paper presents the results of the first comprehensive analysis of the data from these projects and derives predicted at-sea distributions of four seabird species in UK waters.
