By accessing or using this dataset, you agree to the terms of the relevant licence agreement(s). You will ensure that this dataset is cited in any publication that describes research in which the data have been used.
Data deposited includes all raw measurement data (.csv files) of the neotropical katydid species such as body length and body weight along with the ingredient breakdown of the various diets used. Also included are Laser Doppler Vibrometry data (.txt files; used to scan the forewings and determine the resonance of each male), and audio recordings (.wav files) of several males (to determine the difference in period duration between the males). All data provided here allow the reader to recreate the analysis carried out in the study.

Provenance & quality
Raw measurement data was manually inputted into Excel following physical measurements of living organisms. These data were then converted for use in Rstudio..
Laser data was created through scanning the forewings of males using a Laser Doppler Vibrometer. This data was extracted as .txt files and was analysed in MatLab using custom made scripts.
Audio recordings were created by recording the calling song of males using ultrasonic audio equipment. This data was extracted as .wav files and analysed using custom made scripts in MatLab as well as manual measurements of period duration in Adobe.
