Adding Value to Ash and Digestate (AVAnD) work package 1 – characterisation of individual waste streams and putative soil amendment products
The datasets under this collection compose the data gathered as part of work package 1 of the Adding Value to Ash & Digestate (AVAnD) project. The aim of this work package is to develop waste derived land conditioning products for use in agriculture with comparable nutritional performance and properties to that of commercially available products. In particular, to understand the underlying physico-chemical characteristics of bioenergy by-products (anaerobic digestates and biomass ashes) and their resulting blends; tailor nutrient content to plant nutritional requirements and; provide additional benefits to those merely related to fertilization. Under these specific aims, waste streams were characterized and processed to better understand dewaterability and impact on its physical fractions, as well as storage conditions.
