Dataset contains Terrestrial laser scanner (TLS) and CT scan data collected during fieldwork on a small gravel-bed river. TLS data show the river bed surface topography collected at five intervals between September 2014 and October 2018. CT scan data show the 3D structure of sections of the river bed. CT data has been processed to segment the images into gravel grains and fine-grained matrix.

Provenance & quality
TLS data were collected from the channel under conditions when there was little to no flow in the channel. On some field visits, wire baskets were buried in the channel bed. On the following visit, the baskets were extracted, fixed in place by dipping in molten wax, and CT scanned. CT data were processed to remove any scan artefacts, and to segment the gravel grains from the surrounding matrix and other materials.
