Sedimentological, ecological and physical data collected from UK saltmarsh sites by the Carbon Storage in Intertidal Environments (C-SIDE) project

This data collection comprises sedimentological, ecological and physical data from the Carbon Storage in Intertidal Environments (C-SIDE) project. The C-SIDE project delivers discovery science that informs policy via the integrated study of blue carbon in UK saltmarsh habitats. C-SIDE started in 2018 and will run until 2022. The project involves the following organizations: University of St Andrews, University of York, University of Leeds, University of Plymouth, Bangor University and the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (Bangor). The focus on the long-term development, drivers and carbon stock assessments of these coastal systems are key project objectives. Data were collected from numerous sites across the UK and included a highly innovative and successful citizen science field sampling programme.

This data collection was collected as part of the C-SIDE project (NE/R010846/1), under the UK Natural Environment Research Council standard grants scheme.
