This dataset contains information about Drosophila fly survival following attack by Leptopilina boulardi parasitic wasp, compared to control groups that were not parasitised. Flies were of four types: Carrying a lectin allele that resists attack (or not) and carrying a spiroplasma that resists wasp attack (or not). Following exposure, flies were scored for survival to pupal and adult stages, and any wasp emergences noted. From this, we ascertain whether combinations of resistance modalities (allelic variants for resistance, symbiont variants for resistance) are more effective than individual sources of resistance to wasp attack.

Provenance & quality
Data was collected in terms of number of surviving pupae (out of a maximum of 30 per vial) and emerging adults (out of a maximum of 30 per vial). Emerging adults were additionally partitioned by sex. These are count data, recorded initially to local paper record sheets and then transcribed to spreadsheets. Emerging wasps were counted two weeks after the last fly emerged.
Proportional survival of initial larval flies to adult stages was calculated as number of adults emerging from vial/30. Survival of pupae to adult phases was calculated as number of adults flies emerging/number of pupae in the vial.
Data were discarded in one case where more than 30 pupae or adults emerged, as this reflects failure to correctly count 30 larvae into the vial initially.
