Terrestrial survey of the ecology of Shetland 1974

Data from the terrestrial component of a larger survey to assess the natural environment of the Shetland Isles, to enable the local council to assess the environmental impact of oil exploration related developments in the area, and to form basis for monitoring change. The survey was undertaken in 1974 by the Institute of Terrestrial Ecology. The series contains data collected in the field including soils, vegetation and habitats information; and also the Land Classification used for the sampling framework.
