Soil, hydrology, vegetation, land use and land management data for the Thames catchment, UK, collected by the ‘Land Management in Lowland Catchments for Integrated Flood Risk Reduction’ (LANDWISE) project
This data collection consists of field survey data and remote sensing data collected, processed and/or compiled by the ‘Land Management in Lowland Catchments for Integrated Flood Risk Reduction’ (LANDWISE) project. The LANDWISE project investigated how land use and management can be used to reduce the risk of flooding for communities. LANDWISE ran from 2017 to 2023; the research was undertaken by University of Reading, UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, British Geological Survey, JBA Consulting, University of Gloucestershire, Forest Research and Landwise Partners.
The LANDWISE project was funded by the UK Natural Environment Research Council (NERC; Grant NE/R004668/1) as part of the NERC ‘Natural Flood Management’ Research Programme.
